Meet Rene, it’s all his fault!
The creator, and ever amicable owner, behind the Keys To Bali villas is our discreet visionary Rene. An enthusiastic Dutchman, Rene is passionate about Bali and the joys it can bring to visitors. He has lived and worked in Hong Kong for 18 years and after spending many glorious holidays in Bali, he took on Villa Kosy as a home for his family. He is now in the enviable position of being able to split his time between Hong Kong and Bali and has added more villas to his rental portfolio.
Rene is very much involved with the running of Keys To Bali and works with you to personalise your holiday experience. His insight and recommendations will help you select the Keys To Bali villa which best suits your holiday needs and wishes. He will answer all your questions quickly and fully; exactly as you would expect from a super host. Rene promotes high standards in the daily running of all the Keys To Bali villas and works closely with each individual villa team to ensure an exemplary service. We believe the name Keys To Bali encapsulates the ethos behind the company – the team can truly unlock the delights of Bali for you.
Our team
The Keys To Bali island hospitality begins with our friendly driver who will meet, greet and transfer you from the airport to the villa. You’ll soon see that our staff work as one big family who are happy to host and take care of your holiday needs. They have all worked with Rene for up to 17 years which is a testament to the great relationship they all treasure.
Your personal in-villa team meet you with a fresh drink and a cooling towel to welcome you to your villa home. The villa manager will then show you the layout and facilities, and explain the daily workings of the villa. The villa managers organise the day to day running of the villas and supervise the maids, pool boys and security guards.
Apart from the villa manager at Kosy, Suzanne, an American who has lived in Bali for 20 years, all our staff are Balinese. All have previously worked in hospitality and received a high degree of personal in-villa training from Rene or Suzanne. The staff work seamlessly and discreetly together to make sure the villas are clean and tidy, the gardens are maintained, the pool is fresh and you feel relaxed and hassle free.
The staff are always attentive, respond quickly to requests and go out of their way to make sure your stay at the villa is indulgent and unparalleled. What’s better than to wake up to the smell of coffee and a hearty breakfast waiting for you? Then returning from a day trip or a day at the beach to find the rooms made up, the dishes washed, the living spaces tidied and a cold drink handed to you with a genuine smile. The only thing for you to do is to accept the graceful hospitality and get on with the business of chilling out!

Chef services
An additional indulgence is being able to hand over the cooking to a professional. Avoiding planning, shopping and slaving over a hot stove can be a pleasant reality as Keys To Bali have excellent private chefs. If you are lucky enough to be staying at Villa Ylang Ylang, we have our own professional in house chef – Kadek. Using the freshest, locally sourced ingredients, she creates delicious local specialties, try her famous kebabs and fish tower, Asian, European and fusion dishes. If you’re staying in one of our other villas, don’t despair, we can provide a private chef to come to the villa whenever you choose.
We are fortunate to have a pool of professional chefs on our books who work closely with the villa teams and can be arranged on request. You meet the chef the day before, go through the menu and discuss your options – and that’s all you have to do! If there are any people in your party who have food allergies or particular dietary needs, we make sure we cater for them. Just let the villa team know if you’d like to dine alfresco or in the dining room and they will set up your lunch or dinner for you. Then sit back and savour the chef’s creations as the team serve up your meal and drinks.
The concierge
There are so many things to see and do on Bali, that it can sometimes be overwhelming. Our villa teams are always happy to share their intimate insights and wealth of knowledge to help with your decisions. They work with you to create an itinerary and personalise your experience of Bali. From booking cars and tours, activities and sights, to arranging massages and dinner reservations, our concierge service is there to help you. If you have limited time in Bali, then an advance itinerary can be put together to maximize your island vacation and to make organising your time a breeze. Make a mention of this to Rene in an email discussion and he can get the ball rolling for you.
Additional services
How good would it be to arrive at your chosen villa to find your favourite nibbles, a bottle of wine and the kids’ favourite snacks there for you? Getting in arrival provisions is an additional service we offer. At the end of a long flight, you don’t have to think about making sure you have some basic food items for your first day. All you have to do is email a shopping list and the villa manager will endeavour to get everything in for your arrival.
If your group includes children, it may be that the parents fancy a bit of adult time for dinner and drinks in the evening. The villa team are happy to babysit, for an extra charge. A perfect solution as the children are already familiar with the staff and trust them. You can be reassured in the knowledge that your little ones are in safe hands with the Keys To Bali team. On arrival at the villa, guests receive a personalise app, ‘Hello Here‘ to help them discover the gems of Bali.
